Swimming Lessons Update

It's a new season and they are off!!!

And they are loving it! They swam the length of the pool without stopping (and without the kick boards!). I took photos after they were in the pool for over 15 minutes swimming numerous laps and were exhausted so their teacher took pity on them and let them use kick boards after awhile. :)

He has the same teacher so he's in heaven -- having a blast and doing so much now!

Can't wait to see the progress! AWESOME!!!

I can imagine what great swimmers they'll turn out to be!! Olympics here we come!!

* Abbey Hayes Books (MG has read the first 5)

* The Keyholders Series (MG has read all 4... waiting for more)

* Tiara Club Books (MG read most of it and only she knows which ones she has missed!)

*Ramona Quimby (MG has only read the first one but wants to read the others -- I loved these when I was younger)

* Ruby Lu (it's about a girl that tries to speak Chinese so why not! MG likes Ruby's sense of humor)

* She's finally into Junie B. Jones (but I'm not a fan of the

books)

*Amber Brown (about a 9 year old girl who is pretty spunky and faces everyday issues... most MG understands, others she questions -- like divorce)

*The Fairy Chronicles (she's reading through these pretty quickly and enjoys the adventures in each book)

**A Series of Unfortunate Events (I read 1 and 2 to all 3 then stopped for a bit. MG picked up number 3 and has not stopped reading! She's now on number 8 as of 12/3/11) -- as of January 2012, she finished the entire series!

Now (2/2012) she's reading a new series -- Pixie Tricks by Tracey West

5/20/2012 MG read The Genius Files - Never say genius by Dan Gutman and liked it (is looking for the other books to read)

MD reading most of the Amelia Bedilia Series and loving them! You should hear him laugh while reading!

Henry Huggins and the Paper Route -- very sweet that Ramona followed Henry around during his paper route

Henry Huggins and the Club House -- boys will be boys (poor Beezus!)

Henry and Ribsy -- they love the part where Henry wrestle a chinook salmon with his bare hands!

The Glass Bottom Elevator by Roald Dahl

Ribsy - poor Ribsy got lost and what an adventure we went on

The BFG (I had to down play a lot of the "children being eaten" by the giants thing but they enjoyed this book!)

The Witches (this was a disturbing book but they loved it because I didn't make it so scary!)

Freddy to the Rescue -- a hamster that communicates via a computer keyboard? Well, they liked it... me? Not so much!

Winter of the Ice Wizard ( a Magic Tree House series)

Socks by Beverley Cleary

8 class pets + 1 squirrwl [divided by] 1 dog = chaos by Vivian Velde

Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes by Jonathan Auxier (This was a great book! I loved that the main character had to work hard at discovering his true self. )
