E and Tae Kwon Do

September 4, 2012

He was hesitant to take the class.  It wasn't with MD so he wasn't too thrilled.  But he knew that the teacher was also MD's teacher.  So that made it better.  He walked in the studio very nervous... But then he was given his uniform and after putting it on, he felt a bit more prepared.  And... after his first class, he loves it and asks every day when it will be Tuesday again!  :)  That's my boy!  :)
Check out what he did:
He started out by telling his instructor that he had a hot dog for breakfast!  What?!  Goes to show you their short term" memory!  He was actually telling her what he had for lunch!  Oh well...

Then they started out with stretching exercises:
 How cute is this?!
Then they learned a few ready positions:
Then they started with punches!  See how he's actually letting out a yell too?  (so cute!)
 And other side:
Then his favorite -- learning the upper punches.  That's  Master Edmonds trying to trick him.  She's seeing how quickly he can react to her using that soft bat to "hit" him and he is suppose to quickly decide which arm to use to protect his head.  He liked that a lot!  :)
Lastly they practiced their kicks.  That was fun too!  When they kicked the paper it made a loud, thundering noise.

A new belt for MD

May 29, 2012
He loves this class!  This is his second session and it's so neat to see him enjoying it so much.
Look... it's almost the splits!  (I couldn't do that!)

After a few routines to prove he knows his stuff... it was time for his teacher to hand over his new belt!
 He was very excited!
A bow to say thank you...
 The class.
His instructor, Master Edmonds, and his buddy, Grant:
Auntie Clare and Uncle Jim came to watch!
 His buddy, Connor -- he's Grant's brother.

A New Belt for MD!

For the last 6 weeks, MD has been attending Tae Kwon Do classes afterschool.  It wasn't soemthing he really wanted to do, but I encouraged him to give it a try... and guess what?!  He LOVES it!  Today, April 10, 2012 was his last day of the session.  So, parents were allowed in to watch and see what they do during the class.
Warm ups (surprisingly, he can do 15 push ups! I know!!! I can barely do one!!!)

All the different stance and positions....
Don't ask me what they are called!  I was too busy taking pictures!
I just thought he looked so cute!  :)
He also kicked a board for the first time!  After that they all received their new belts!  This is his new belt after on 6 classes!
He is so proud -- and I am too!  way to go buddy!
Here is a video of him kicking a board.  I hope it uploads properly!
